During the second week of August, the VIII Banana Technical Congress of Colombia was held in the city of Santa Marta, organized by the Colombian Banana Association-AUGURA and its CENIBANANO Research Center. During the 2 days of the event, more than 800 attendees including producers, executives, marketers and exhibitors enjoyed the different research works, presented by 38 academics, 8 of them invited. Topics covered included different areas, irrigation technology, nutrition, harvest, fertilization, and pest and disease management, among others.
Leaders of the agricultural sector attended the event, including the Minister of Agriculture, Andres Valencia, who made his first public participation; Jorge Bedoya, president of the Farmers Society of Colombia; Pedro Daniel Rojas, representative Board of Directors of Augura.
Centro Aceros could not be oblivious to participate in the event, and for the third consecutive year we attended the commercial show, reaffirming the permanent support to our current clients and generating confidence in potential clients. We also participated in the event by contributing items for the scenery, strengthening our relationship of trust with the organizers of the event.
